Pancakes Are Back!! Not much more to say about this, but it looks like focus is being placed back on pancake blocks! Check it out 9/5/2008 Game Week 2008Finally, a new season of college football is upon us, and with that brings some of the last updates this site may ever get! Now that Bill is actually gone, Husker fever has never been higher. The goals and hopes of fans all over the world have been restored. Now we are only weeks away from what could be the most anticipated Husker game in years!
That being said, I want to thank all you long time Billmustgo.com readers and messageboard members. It has been a great time. Thank you to those of you who have supported the website and stuck by the message of this website, especially when it wasn't a popular thing as a Husker fan. It was a curious thing to see the slow transformation of all the "fans" as they supported Bill and slowly turned against him. For some, the turn against Bill happened very fast, mainly last year. I hope everyone learned from this and if current indications are correct, I think Bo Pelini and staff have our team - and state identity - on a well needed recovery path. Have patience but don't be surprised if it doesn't take long to get back to the.... dare I say, Solich levels of performance. That is 9+ wins for those of you still confused.
This team should prove to be hardworking and tough. This team will no longer quit or feel defeated before stepping on the field. This team will make you proud, in victory and even in defeat. For those of you newer Husker fans, yes, this is possible. No matter what happens this year, I hope we are all able to stand up straight and be proud, once again, to call ourselves Husker fans! 8/24/2008 Husker Power Returning to Lincoln?Winter conditioning under James Dobson has been hard work for the Huskers this year. Defensive end Zach Potter claims "it’s night and day.” Joe Ganz calls it "intense." I don't know about you, but the thought of Nebraska returning to a form of Husker Power would make me proud.

This was obvious from what Callahan did at Nebraska. Every year was packed full of JUCO recruits who did make an impact, but did not come close to reestablishing Nebraska as the football power it should be.
On the flip side, Pelini seems to be handling recruiting the "old school way" by targeting high school athletes, and not just any high school athlete, but their first focus is Nebraska high school athletes. While Pelini is not limiting his search to Nebraska atheletes only, at least he is giving them a good, first look. This very important aspect of Husker football has been ignored for the past 4 years. It sure is nice to see a coach focusing on Husker football both now and in the future! 2/1/2008 Barney Cotton"But, obviously, we didn't come here to leave really soon. We want to make it last as long as we can."
Welcome to real, true, proud Nebraska Football. I can't even being to tell you how excited I am about this coaching staff. Yes, they are good, even great, coaches. However, what really excites me is the quality of each individual. I have every ounce of respect for Ron Brown. I would stand by him through anything. I am now developing a deeper respect for Barney Cotton. What is there not to like about someone who says "I couldn't live apart from my family for 18 months, sure I kind of rolled the dice. But I'd never change that for a million bucks because I got to stay at home with my (three) boys."
Some of you may be thinking "But what about winning? What about your career?" If you are, it is no wonder you don't grasp what a "real Nebraska fan" is. And yes, Matt Perault, I am talking about you as well. Nebraska football is more than winning. The staff knows real people are involved. The staff knows that if it really does take you 16 hours each day to coach a team, that maybe someone else should be doing it. There is nothing wrong with working hard, but even Callahan himself believed in a "balance" (of course he meant it in reference to passing and rushing).
For those of you who are still confused at what I am saying, let me put it in another context. This holiday season, ask yourself why you took time off work to be with you family. Hopefully it is not because you had to, it should be because you want to spend time with those you love. If you don't understand what I am saying and you are working through the holidays, then maybe you need to re-adjust your priorities.
